I hear about adopting a puppy this Saturday. There were 6 dogs in the litter, and 60 applications, 30 for the dog we want and 30 for her lookalike brother. They've whittled down the applications to 3 for each dog, and we're still in the running. They want pictures of our house. The other two people vying for our dog are work-at-home moms so it'll be tough to sell them since we work all day.
I went to HI-G last Friday because I did a favor for Doug and went to the Oakley Headquarters to get some work done on his sunglasses. That was in Foothill Ranch, like 50 miles away.. so I said I get to play for doing him a favor (although it was my self-imposed hiatus). I won $107. I was trying to win half a puppy ($150).

I arrived in San Francisco on Monday, early afternoon. My workshop was not til Tuesday so I visited Artichoke Joe's (20 minutes on the BART and walking just over a mile). The area was San Bruno, which was nice enough and no one had bars on the windows.
I had checked the median income for the city before I went over and it was $62k, so I figured it was a decent area. I played for a few hours and was down nearly $500 when I made back all but $120. No half a puppy there.
Their beers were $4.50 and the place mostly played limit. The players were very friendly and one guy offered to drive me back to the city but I declined.
I asked the security guard to get me a cab and he ran back in, grabbed a taxi cab driver off the $3/6 game and I got a ride! I asked how much to the city and he said $35, so I had him drive me a mile to the BART, costing me $5. It was dark and I'm a girl.
On the short ride over I asked how it was going at $3/6 and he said in an Eastern European accent,
"I've lost it all!"He told me the action was better at Lucky Chances, and gave me directions. I tipped him $10 on top of the $5 fare and he said,
"Luvvvv you sweetie!" I figure the tip was good karma for when I go to Lucky Chances in Colma.
So much for keeping May poker-free.
